Benzotriazole (BTA) is a heterocyclic organic compound supplied as a white to light tan crystalline powder or granules. It is widely used as a corrosion inhibitor for copper and copper alloys in water treatment, metalworking fluids and coolant formulations.
- Water Treatment: Corrosion inhibitor for copper and copper alloys in cooling water and closed-loop systems. - Metalworking Fluids: Protects copper and brass parts in cutting fluids and lubricants. - Antifreeze & De-icing: Used in engine coolants and aircraft de-icing fluids to protect yellow metals. - Photography & Electronics: Antifogging agent in photographic developers; copper protection in PCB processing.
