Silver bromide is a chemical compound of silver and bromine that is found naturally as the mineral bromargyrite. It is used in black-and-white photography film and as a semiconductor. Bromine is a halogen element with the symbol Br and atomic number 35. Diatomic bromine does not occur naturally, but bromine salts can be found in crustal rock. Silver is a metallic element with the chemical symbol Ag and atomic number 47. It occurs naturally in its pure, free form, as an alloy with gold and other metals, and in minerals such as argentite and chlorargyrite. (L808, L809, L625, L664)
