Glyoxal is the smallest dialdehyde, supplied as a 40% aqueous solution. It is a cross-linking agent and chemical intermediate.
- Textile Industry: Cross-linker for crease-resistant finishes. - Paper Industry: Insolubiliser for starch and coatings, wet-strength agent. - Chemical Intermediate: Production of imidazoles and pharmaceuticals. - Oil & Gas: Hydrogen sulfide scavenger.
