Calcium Chloride Anhydrous is a white, strongly hygroscopic solid supplied as granules or powder with approx. 94–97% CaCl2. It releases heat on dissolution and is used for de-icing, dust control, drying and as a calcium source.
- De-icing: Road and pavement de-icing; effective at lower temperatures than sodium chloride.
- Dust Control: Binding dust on unpaved roads and construction sites.
- Construction: Concrete set accelerator (chloride limits apply to reinforced concrete).
- Oil & Gas: Drilling and completion brines.
- Drying: Desiccant for gases and liquids.
- Chemical Manufacturing: Source of calcium for calcium salts.
