Floor Coatings: Seamless Epoxy, Polyurethane and Polyurea Systems

TerraSystem floor coatings are seamless, liquid-tight resin systems for floors under mechanical and chemical load: industrial halls, car parks, commercial kitchens, laboratories and antistatic areas. From a 0.15 mm transparent seal to a 3 mm self-levelling coating, each system is chosen for the substrate and the load; installed by TerraSystem's own technical crew.

What is a floor coating?

A floor coating is a resin layer applied directly to concrete or screed. It seals the surface without joints and makes it resistant to abrasion, oil and chemicals, and easy to clean.

TerraSystem systems are based on epoxy (EP), polyurethane (PU) or polyurea. They are built up in two to four layers; anti-slip systems are broadcast with colour flakes or quartz sand to reach the required slip resistance.

  • Seamless and impermeable to water

  • High abrasion and impact resistance, good chemical resistance

  • Available in many colours

Where are floor coatings used?

There is a suitable system for every load.

01

Industry and warehouses

Production and storage halls with medium to high mechanical load.

02

Car parks and garages

Resistant to car traffic, mineral oils and fuel; anti-slip.

03

Kitchens and food areas

Anti-slip R11–R12 systems for wet and greasy floors.

04

Laboratories and workshops

Chemical resistance and an easy-to-clean surface.

05

Antistatic areas

Pharmaceutical plants, operating theatres and storage of explosive goods.

06

Terraces and balconies

Flexible, UV-stable systems for pedestrian traffic on concrete or asphalt.

07

Offices and showrooms

Transparent concrete-look seal, matt or glossy.

08

Stadiums

Highly abrasion-resistant systems for heavy foot traffic, indoors and outdoors.

Why TerraSystem floor coatings?

  • Seamless: no joints where dirt and liquids collect

  • High abrasion and impact resistance

  • Good chemical resistance; resistant to oil and fuel in garages

  • Anti-slip classes R10, R11 and R12

  • Antistatic system with an earth resistance below 10⁶ Ω

  • Fast-curing polyurea and UV-stable systems for outdoor areas

  • Many colours and decors

  • Installed by TerraSystem's own technical crew

How a floor coating project runs

  1. 1
    Enquiry

Area, use (traffic, chemicals, wet areas) and substrate; photos are enough to start.

  2. 2
    System selection

Choice of system, anti-slip class, colour and layer thickness.

  3. 3
    Quote

A quote based on area, substrate preparation and system.

  4. 4
    Installation

TerraSystem's own crew prepares the substrate and applies the system layer by layer.

Floor coatings: frequently asked questions

Which floor coating is right for my floor?

It depends on the load and the use: self-levelling EP for industrial floors, anti-slip R10–R12 for wet and greasy areas, EP-ECF for antistatic areas, polyurea or Peatonal outdoors. Tell us the use and we will recommend a system.

What is the difference between epoxy and polyurea?

Epoxy systems are hard and tough with high compressive strength, for heavy indoor loads. Polyurea cures fast and is UV-stable, which suits garages, balconies and outdoor platforms.

Can it be used in car parks?

Yes. Garage systems resist car traffic, mineral oils, fuel and tyre marks and meet anti-slip requirements.

What do R10, R11 and R12 mean?

Anti-slip classes according to DGUV 108-003: the higher the number, the greater the slip resistance. R12 is used, for example, in cold stores and waste water areas.

How much does a floor coating cost per m²?

It depends on the area, substrate condition and system. Send us the area, use and photos and we will prepare a quote.

Who installs it?

TerraSystem's own technical crew on every project. Klar Chem is your contact for system selection, quotes and coordination.
